I am trying to continue my learning by using twitter. I made a twitter account where I started to follow a few accounts that are involved with health, wellness and psychology which I find very interesting. These accounts share interesting pictures and information. I plan on learning new things about twitter and these subjects by following many different twitter accounts. My plan with twitter is to:
Following 1-10 new academic and professional accounts per day A minimum of 1 simple acaprof retweet a day A minimum of 1 quoted retweet a day A minimum of 1 reply a day 1-10 favorites per day A minimum of 1 acaprof tweet of my own per day Active use of the #IDSSem hashtag Active use of your relevant acaprof hashtags Use of helpful apps (Twitter for mobile; Tweetdeck; etc) 5 days a week (minimum) of this tweeting. 10 minutes a day or so.

This article talks about giving students their own domaine and letting them be incontrol of it. For example they will be able to make public profiles, professional portfolios, and digital identities. The University of Mary Washington (UMW) was the first school to do this but now there are many other schools starting to give students their own domains. I think this gives students a way to express themselves and their interests especially for Interdisciplinary Studies majors (IDS). IDS students are combining different majors they find interesting into one. This is a great place to put down things that they find interesting or new knowledge they come about. This is also a great way to inform people about IDS and what its like.
